The Teen students are typically from 13–17 years old with reading skills at varying levels. Make sure to encourage them to read and gently correct mispronunciations. This age level can seem to be uninterested and unengaged. A youth teacher will need to provide questions and engage on cultural topics including social media and the latest trends.
The Growing with Jesus Activity Book is included for classroom or rotational setting and to be used in conjunction with the Teacher's Guide. All lessons follow the same pattern for teaching students.

01 Preparing the Soil:
- Have the title slide up on the screen before students begin to arrive
- Greet students with a smile and small conversation as they arrive
- Once students have arrived, begin with an opening prayer
02 Planting the Seed:
- Engage students with an icebreaker activity
- Introduce the topic for the day
- Lead students through their Activity Workbook (page 1)
03 Watering the Seeds:
- Share the video for the day
04 Growing the Seeds:
- Present the scripture lesson with memory verse
- Discuss the follow up slides to reinforce comprehension
- Lead students through their Activity Workbook (page 2)
- Provide additional scriptures
05 Weeding the Garden:
- Introduce the discussion questions as a group or break students into pairs to answer
- Lead students through their Activity Workbook (page 3)
06 Pruning the Garden:
- Introduce reflection questions as a group or break students into pairs to answer
- Lead students through their Activity Workbook (page 4)
07 Harvesting:
- Conclude with slide deck and activities and closing prayer
